New Art Gallery Boyle at An Ríoga Gallery

I am delighted that you can now also find my work in the wonderful town of Boyle at ‘New Art Gallery Boyle at An Ríoga’. This is a exceptional gallery space in the centre of the town by the bridge, in the refurbished and repurposed old Royal Hotel.

The Gallery is open Wednesday to Saturday 11:30 am to 5:00 pm.

The name for my site is from the poem 'The Lake Isle of Innisfree' by the Irish poet WB Yeats. All my paintings and drawings are based on the feelings I experience when I see something, sometimes fleeting, sometimes blurred, sometimes mystical. No, not really mystical but sometimes there is a moment when the light just hits something in a magical way, a sunset, a seascape, a field of wheat, a car or the ugliest building in town sparking a reaction in my mind .... ‘an mothú’, an Irish expression for 'the feeling' ... or to put it in simple terms, it caught my eye.

I try to paint and draw what inspires me, what causes me to

…….. look

………… wonder

……………. and paint!
